Executive Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to the Website of Shevington Vale Primary School.

Choosing a school for your child is a tremendously important decision and one that we take very seriously and so I hope that you will find our website a good starting point for your search.

We are proud at Shevington Vale of the welcoming feel that is the real strength of our school and that it is clear that all children are at the heart of what we do. Whilst endeavouring to ensure our children become excellent citizens, learning to live fairly alongside others we also strive to provide a challenging yet engaging curriculum to ensure that each child reaches their potential.

Our school instils a hardworking ethos, expecting children to take pride in their work and that of others. Providing a strong foundation for learning is also very important, thus the basics of education are also highly valued.

Our most recent OFSTED states:

"A very family feel to the school from the moment you walk through the door. Every child is known and nurtured. Pupils are self-confident and articulate. Children get off to a good start in Reception. They make good progress because the teaching is well planned and structured to develop children's skills and understanding."

Partnerships with our families is also a strength and there are many opportunities to spend time with us in school across the year.

Shevington Vale is part of a two school Federation based in a semi-rural location just outside of Wigan within one village. This means that our two schools share a Governing Body and an Executive Headteacher with a Head of School on each site.

This is just a glimpse of what we are and what we are achieving for our children, however the best way to really become familiar with the school is to visit us and experience it for yourself. We would be delighted to meet you.
